Excellent classic B/W image, the title is disturbing though...(...and that's not necessarily a bad thing)

I hesitated to post it on Mothers Day, but then I have no mother to go home to.

And neither have I, not that it makes any difference. I would have been glad to go in there out of the way.

haunting and disturbing,, feel the atmosphere of misery a childs tears a childs fears.. emptiness..its disturbed me.. my heartaches for children who havnt felt the true fullness of a mothers love as its one of the most precious gift of life, plus often the result of who we are, perfect love should have no fear..cant remember who wrote off the top of my head all families are psychotic.read the book as well grrr!!! beautiful provoking image photographed artistically and very much from the soul.. perfect tones... and its fitting for mothers day, to remind some the results of their actions. sublime egmont as always :)..)))))))))

exceptional and shy view into this room! have the feeling there are so many memories in it that one is afraid to step in! the title is provocing indeed! it also can be terrible to have a mother and sometimes it is better not having and knowing one! there are many varieties of family feelings! ;o)

the textures are wonderful in this shot & pov with the angles & door slightly ajar, if not for the title i would've found it quite innocent, i won't analyze but to not nurture a child is criminal at best

What an impact, Egmont! A haunting image! Guess we all have such memories in one way or another! The time was quite different in those days! But that is just a tiny excuse! Maybe people can get over such terrible memories by thinking about the circumstances and coercions... comprehension, but no excuse!!! An excellent work again, my friend! v I slowly understand why you werent't sure to add that other image to your series! Thanks for telling me!

...if walls could speak...and these walls do! the stories are told in the fabric of the walls itself. look closely and you'll see the girl lying prone...tears dripping from here eyes. and look at that side-view portrait of the little boy...his face...haunted, his eye shows the anguish. his brother is to his left...he refuses to look. at least now the lightbulb is no longer there. the empty socket still remains as a reminder. they'll never forget that light.
