Description
I look in the mirror and what do I see?
Who is this person in front of me?
Why are her eyes filled with sadness and fear?
Why can I see all her hopes dissapear?
If she seems so funny why is she scared inside?
What is it she has to hide?
Is it her soul that is shattered to pieces?
Is it her heart that is so cold it freezes?
Is it her mind that i poisoned by lies?
Is it her ears that are sick of the cries?
Why is she consumed by anger and hate?
Is this what people call faith?
Is this supposed to be her white picket fence?
Is this her life of pure romance?
Is this the happines that she was offered?
After all that she has suffered?
All the pain she had to bear?
Now all she does is stare.....

Nice piece, I like it. Mirrors offer no answers. Wean yourself of physical reflections and when you happen to catch a reflection, gently remind yourself with kind, but firm reassurances - "That's Not Me, Not Me". D

Fear has many faces; one is of that of the monster. I wish for you to be able conquer this monster. As for mirrors, I have found in my years of life, they only reflect what the viewer projectsand therefore this one line of yours explains why the mirror reflects what it does "Why are her eyes filled with sadness and fear?" Sadness is a result of internal pain, as a nurse is to the wounded Therefore, it is ok to be sad for it helps us heal. So now we see FEAR in the face of a monster here in your poem for the mirror only reflects back what has surfacedIn your particular case starring into a mirror when succumbed by this type of fearthis particular type then uses the mirror as a tool or weapon of further abuse to the projector it does not tell the answers that lay beyond the surface only the projector knows those thingsyou have the answers within you they are not in the mirror. I too avoid that piece of glass when this type of fear has overwhelmed me in my life time. It tells me no more then I already knowas a matter of fact it slaps me hard with more of the samecompounding what ever hurt I may be experiencing from itthus increasing the flow of sadnessSo yes, do stay away from the mirror when your experiencing what is negative in nature as suchyour goal should be to heal, not participate in the hurting of yourselffor "answers" I look withinI wish for you to look within also finding peace, and happinessconquering this monstrous type of fear. (The poem was a smooth read, and thank you for sharing it with usall my best to you, and hugs too!

Excellent written piece. If I read correctly earlier somewhere here, you are very young? Far too young to be sad. When I look in my mirror and ask myself questions, I keep getting involved in long, never-ending arguments. WINK. Maybe your next written piece could address your actual specifics of your sadness? It works for this grumpy, old man and it saves TONS of money on 'shrinks'. WINK2. My best, TallPockets.

Great work, those questions are questions we all ask ourselves sometimes. Just don't get pulled into the sadness by them, i'd say. But good job!
