Description

Travelling on bike is fun. You can see a lot of the surrounding landscape on your own pace. Mountain bikers usually enjoy to go off the road too, but there are places where it's not wise to do that. Like here, where the steep precipice would turn out in a one-way ride down into the lake. I could not but smile looking at this warning, it stimulates my imagination. Even the Netherlands, a country where many people use the bike as means for transport it's not always safe. I discovered that the day before yesterday, while I had to go full in the brakes when a car moved onto a roundabout (giving no priority where he had to give it) while I was driving on it, and in a curve on a wet road you can imagine what happened! Dang! Kissing the ground like no pope did before! Result: scratched open hands and knees :( So I'm covered with some nice band aids but recovering fortunately and smiling again! Always be aware not only of your own faults but the faults of others as well! Minolta X-700 (Fuji Sensia 100, 50 mm) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments

I had many many close calls with a bike too. Even if you have the right away, you gotta yield or else. Interesting place to try your skills here. Aloha

Don't fall down!!! Well, at least, if the lake is just below, you would get a nice swim...

Ha, ha. the sign, I mean. Poor hands and knees. I am always astonished how drivers seem to think cyclists are invisible.

Excellent capture, and very funny sign!!! Oh darn, I can imagine some unsuspecting cyclist getting this far with no idea this would have to be the end of that particular journey! You tell your own story in such a funny way too! Hope your bruises have started to clear up by now. Thanks for sharing this image with us...
