Everywhere people with camera's find their way in this world to make their shots. I like the art of taking realistic pictures, because it provides a way to show how I experience this world. It is a way for other people to look through my eyes.Nature ... exists primarily for her face, her look, her appeals to the heart and the imaginationGeorge MacDonaldJan-Carel Vierbergen
Picture courtesy of Ruut WegmanBIOIt is all in the family: love for hiking in the nature. Since my childhood I'm used to walk with father, brothers, cousins, etc., and take pictures (Minolta X-700 with 28-70 mm and 100-300 mm zoom) of what I see. I grew up in Ede (The Netherlands), studied Electrical Engineering in Eindhoven and I am working now as Coordinator e-learning at the Christelijke Hogeschool Ede (http://www.che.nl) where I implement digital assessments for students and assist students in DTP and creating websites.
Since I know little about photographing as well as computer science it was not difficult to find ways for putting images on the web. The only thing to look for now is to find ways for showing the slides in a convenient way. I tried already something at http://www.che.nl/users/jcv (Dutch only, click at Dia's van de natuur in Nederland en de Alpen), but this platform provides good means to share my pictures with others.
I hope you enjoy this!

I really like the sharp details, like the texture of the leaves and the bark. Perfectly in focus!

Yes, it's horrifying what strong winds will do to the strongest of trees! Forceful and powerful, and your photo depicts it well..

excellent shot ! love the natural tones...

Florida looked like that last winter. I have also seen scenes from avalances and tornadoes that exhibit what once was blamed on dragons and accounted to the head of the land.

Nature can be both kind and cruel. There are several large oak trees on my property and I always get a little nervous during the hurricane season. Great photo, makes me want to go for a walk in the woods, matter of fact, I think I wiil. Bye.

A terrible hurricane indeed. Florida is slowly recovering from last year's storms as well...and more are predicted this summer/fall.
