Description

Thanks for viewing !! :o) -- The Striped Hoverfly (Helophilus pendulus), also referred to as Sun-Fly. Could be confused with the almost identical Helophilus trivittatus. The latter has gaps of yellow between the black stripes of its abdomen whereas the stripes on the Striped Hoverfly touch in the middle. Also, H. trivittatus often has grey spots on its abdomen. I could tell to whole mimicry story all over again but i wont...
