Description
Trying to find a reasonably realistic skin shader. So? What's the general consensus? Is it getting there? Ideas? Suggestions? Thanks for looking and, especially, for any comments.

hey there. the bump is still too strong - she looks pockmarked! specularity is definately improved - what colour is the specular colour though? if it isn't, try a dark blue, which always adds a nice sheen. dark grey tends to look very plasticky. other than that, its definately getting there!

OK, thanks for that. I'll give it a try and see how it goes.

The lips look almost spot-on, and the skin color is better in this image than the last. Crustychristie is right about the bump though. Still slightly too strong. It's getting there though!

Actually, maxxxmodelz there isn't any bump on it at all, it's all displacement mapped. I did lower it though and I have the skin almost right now. I tried a really dumb trick. I plugged the built-in mathematical specularity shader into the specularity node. It works quite well. Der! slaps self in forehead. LOL

The lips look kissably fantastic. Just do what is suggested above for the bump/displacement bump, and you will have a fantastic character. -The Starkdog
