Description

July 23rd 2375 We left home today, the solar flares had been getting worse, a lot worse, in the last few weeks. The radiation was getting too dangerous to stay, even the radiation screens in the home were taking the strain. The Earth President announced a new storm on the sun had started, worse than any before, the radiation from this one, they called it Suzanna, was going to be fatal. The children had practised the emergency evacuation drill for years, part of their school life, in the end, they were calmer than me, though we were all scared as we were boarded onto the ships. We left everything behind today, I wish John were here, he'd know what to tell the children, he'd know what to tell me too.
