Description

A long look towards the distant coastal windfarm at St Bees, Lake District UK, from near Loweswater. Opinions vary on windfarms, I think they are beautiful on several levels, but then I don't live anywhere near one.... Ironically the BNFL nuclear reprocessing plant at Sellafield is less than 9 miles from here. Comments & constructive critique appreciated. If anyone has any tips on how to remove haze in Photoshop, I would like to hear from you. EOS 20D, 17-40L @40mm, F7.1, 1/100s, ISO 100 Many thanks for looking & have a great weekend! ..Steve..

Don't know Steve, nor in PSP. You need to get rid of it at source and use a polarizing filter. You loose about 1-1 stops though. Windfarms are rather controversial around here. Trouble is they always want to plant them in picturesque areas. I would prefer them off-shore myself. Nice shot!!!

Hi Steve yes I love em too as to Haze try this... Use "unsharp mask" in Photoshop with these settings: amount 20, threshold 4, and then vary the radius between 30 and 60. Also increasing contrast quite often works Also a UV filter on the lens can help a lot with no loss of light

I dont have a problem with them, compare them to coal burning power stations? Why not have them around town, that way there is no complaint about spoiling the country side? Perhaps if there were more alternate sources of power ther haze wouldn't be an issue. Cracking shot.

Windmills can be an impressive sight - just so long as you don't live within hearing range... They can be incredibly noisy (although it depends a lot on design). But considering the alternatives that might be considered a small price to pay...;) Beautiful landscape shot.

This is sooooooo beautiful! A masterful shot! The colors rock! 'so brilliant. I'd give anything to learn your talent.. well, almost anything. Are you aware of virtual photographer? It can do some great things for such a small program.
