Description

Progress (pun intended, the freight-version of the Russian Soyuz is called Progress) on my Gemini capsules, no with some textures, the doors, windows and cables are still giving me a major headache on this one, anyway a half attempt at recreating a scene from the time that NASA was still going somewhere. On the 16th of december this year it will be 40 years ago that Gemini 6 (Schirra & Stafford) made an orbital rendevous with Gemini 7 (Bormann & Lovell). Although they could not dock at the time it was an major step towards the moon. During the first space rendezvous, Lovell in Gemini 7 asked 'how's the visibility?'...'pretty bad, I can see through the window and see you fellows inside...' replied Schirra in Gemini 6...later Schirra held up a sign to his window: 'Beat Army', for the benefit of Gemini 7 commander and West Point graduate Borman... We have a problem: First launch attempt of the Gemini 6 on top of the Titan II resulted in shut-down of the main engines a second after they had already ignited. The booster settled back onto the pad unsecured. The crew decided not to eject. What a guys......
