Description

A photo of a sunrise in Lake Placid, FL, overlooking a natural wooded area. Nothing remarkable about this scene, but when I see nature's quiet power at times like this, I am tempted to just start trekking off into the wilderness, walking until I can go no farther and am totally immersed in untainted wilderness. Totally escaping the hand of man and his technology and industry. I know from visits to some of your galleries that a number of people on Renderosity feel this way. Sorry about the sky being a bit blown out but I didn't want to loose detail in the darks. I tried to burn it in a bit. Olympus C8080 & PhotoshopCS ----- "This grand show is eternal. It is always sunrise somewhere; the dew is never all dried at once; a shower is forever falling; vapor ever rising. Eternal sunrise, eternal sunset, eternal dawn and gloaming, on seas and continents and islands, each in its turn, as the round earth rolls." - John Muir "Gentleman...look around you at the gifts of God, the clear sky, the pure air, the tender grass, the birds; nature is beautiful and sinless, and we, only we, are godless and foolish, and we don't understand that life is a paradise, for we have only to understand that and it will at once be fulfilled in all its beauty, we shall embrace each other and weep." - Fyodor Dostoevsky, "The_Brothers_Karamazov" "God is the great mysterious motivator of what we call nature, and it has often been said by philosophers, that nature is the will of God. And I prefer to say that nature is the only body of God that we shall ever see." - Frank Lloyd Wright "I believe in God, only I spell it Nature." - Frank Llyod Wright

Very detailed shrubbery in front. In combination with the dark trees and the sky this set a nice, dark tune.

"totally immersed in untainted wilderness. Totally escaping the hand of man and his technology and industry" Sure hope you don't find yourself surrounded by a pack of wolves or a camera snatching gator without a cell phone! hee hee I completely understand your point though. Great thought and pic KP

Artist and those who think creativly are individuls with two faces as we are two completly differently people. We require the solitute and quite to clear the mind of everyday clutter and commune with nature, recharging ourselves, our spirits. We require the isolation during our creative process as not to have any distractions. Yet when we have finished we desire and need to be embraced by the very people we have closed out doors to during this creative process. We need our audience to pass judgement and feed our need for attention. So we are here on the 'world wide net' feeding on the industrial technology until we are ready to abandon and return to the source of life. So what side of the bed did I get up on this morning? I am still trying to figure that out! Have a great week Kort. PS: I guess the photograph spoke to me. . .

I know your feeling about wanting to get away once in awhile. That's one of the reasons I enjoy going up to the BWCA (Boundary Waters Canoe Area) every year here in northern Minnesota. Very nice shot Kort!!

This is like a shot out of my back door, which strangely enough is not escapism for me as I already have this. Where do I go to escape? Well, I came here to be with friends. Thanks Kort.

Looks like the solitude that my soul requires to energize it's self. I tend to gravitate toward this type of behavior also..so much to be discovered and so much nature reveals to us...looking with reborn eyes that have looked but never seen. Nice work here Kort...makes ya think! Aloha!

to me, that Fyodor Dostoevsky quote says it all. i am also like you. when i'm out in nature taking pictures, i could just be lost there forever...can feel such incredible joy in my heart that seems so overwhelming sometimes i just feel like i could burst! the sky looks perfect to me, Kort...your image conveys much peace. what does it for me in this image is that sun rising in the background behind the trees. sigh

Oh wow, Kort, that's the mood! Yes, trekking until nature tells us we are at our end, when nature shows its powers to show us how limited we are! sigh Love it! Excellent work!
