I never find the time to do everything, but love the things I do. Very easy to make friends with and never judge people by what others have said, as I am capable of finding out for myself.BIOBorn in Sheffield, South Yorkshire, UK. Was lousy at school and taught myself later on in life. Suffered a long illness in childhood and was constantly bullied on my return to school and so glad when I left. First ever job was making cricket bats and hockey sticks.
My interests have changed through life but are all art orientated. I can draw a little but don't bother much now only on the computer. Retired early due to redundancy and have no desire to start again. Live more comfortable than most in this sorry world, though I do sponsor third world children. My lot has not always been a happy one, but I am so grateful for what I have. I know a lot of people who I love and they love me in return, what more could a man ask.
The photograph is years old and was taken by my Aunt who is now in her 86th year. I have kept my hair although it has gone from blonde to grey. The rest of me is not in bad condition although I have gained a little weight due to inactivity with a broken ankle. I am hoping for some decent weather so that I can cycle the countryside once again. Best wishes, Dave - 12th April 2005
23rd June 2005 - I have just removed my favourite artists list, not out of malice it's just to stop the dreaded ebots :) I had a lot more favourites than was listed anyway so it was not up-to-date. I love you all but I must devote time to my wife who is not mobile anymore and needs my help. I may stop by from time to time, but if not I still think of you all. Yours sincerely, Dave

Ah, the nostalgia! My parents had a Ford Granada and it was a "lemon" as my mother put it. Everything in the world was wrong with it. I think in the 70s most cars were like that, as the American car makers didn't care that much. This was the time the Japanese and European car makers began to make a difference. Now things are better. Thanks for the walk down memory lane. :) Love your image.

It would have been a lot better than Dad's Renault 6 or (shudders) Fiat 127 aaargh..... Hehe, stunning photo though. Strangely, your car looks like a cross between a Discovery & a Mk1 Fiesta. Presumably the guy who designed the back got a job at Land Rover & the guy who did the front went to Ford!!

...that fungal attack probably accounts for that spidery thing on the left side sky -- but it does seem right in tune with this wonderful old tree....what kind of tree is it ? - or is that some other form of plant growing up the trunk??? --- looks kind of 'Entish' --- could be a long lost female Ent ! ---but I digress - thanks for sharing!
jocko500
lot of ice on this real cool looking tree

Strange yet beautiful tree ... I guess there's a vine or something growing up it. Excellent

Wonderful! The tree could pass for an abonable snow man! Or possibly an Ent from lord of the rings! Well done AGAIN!

Wow, that is totally amazing! I think I would take the car out and do something really fun and spooky with the tree! Reminds me of the "Crystal Entity" on TNG!

Interesting how the fungus on the left mimics the tree branching on the right. Okay, we shall ignor the car, thanks to your humorous tale. But that tree, wow, it is magnificent. Sorry to hear about your slides, I hope you were able to save most of them.

NO! dont say "sorry, just one more" because this one absolutely has needed to be exposed... Excellent work!
nathalie06
What a majestic and beautiful tree !!!! A wonderful misty shot Dave (once more ;o))))) Then you have the same problem with your slides than I have with certains of the ones of Giancarlo (giancarlo17 on RR). And when a fungal is here... it's a real and dramatic problem ! I'm saving our slides, but it's a very long and hard work, and some of them can't be saved, even cleaning one per one ! But on this shot, the fungal give a lovely effect ! ;o)))) Good luck for your slides !
