Description

My first real night shoot in Hilo town. I have seen these set of stairs that have always intrigued me. On this night I thought I would give it a try and shoot it. This was shot right through the glass window with just the light from the inside and some street light. Much Aloha to Ebsmooth for his many tips on night shooting, without it I would have been lost. Big Mahalo's also out to my bodyguard for the night Sharky, for without him watching my back I doubt I would have chanced it alone. Sorry Eric, I haven't quite got the RAW mode wired yet, so this was shot as a JPEG. I will be chewing your ear for more info soon. Aloha to all on this this day of rememberance!

dude!!! this is awesome!!! love those stairs, excellent flowing lines! fantastic shadows! and i never would have guessed it was through a window!!! RAW isn't a big deal boss but you will see a difference in quality and in b/w conversions as well!!! keep up the good work, you and Sharky make a good team!!!

Oh I am jealous.. I want to be this good. I love that staircase.. the lines would have caught my eye too but I would never attempt to shoot this. Your black and white is awesome. Excellent job!

Great perspective on the stairs! Most have too much spiral - these are more flowing. Kudos to Sharky for watching your back so you could compose this great shot :)
