Description

Continuing in the vein of my recent photos, I'm going to post a series I did some years back using black and white film and an old Topcon SLR. There was no Photoshop manipulation (other and scanning and tonal balancing) as I did everything in the darkroom from developing to printing to toning and coloring. I don't claim that these images carry any deep, important message. I was majoring in Fine Art and trying to do something artsy and unique. I'll let you take from the series what you will. Both images were shot in B&W, but the right one was done with infrared film and then sepia toned and the red eyes hand colored. Actually, the figure in the sky was taken on slide film at night with a flash and then combined with the print negatives in the darkroom. Thus the "negative" effect. I can post the originals at a later date if there is any interest. Have a great week everyone and thanks for viewing and for your comments/critiques. --Kort

The multiple faces on the one on the right has an Alaskan Eskimo totem wood carving feel from the angle that it was posed. This is also re-enforced by the reversal of the tones including their placement within the picture among the pine trees. Have a great week.

i've looked at this image several times. i guess in looking at them, i realize how easily we can end up worshopping a false God and never really know it. This image has made me think a LOT!!! i pray that God will speak to me thru images, and i heard a powerful message here. if God is not #1 in my life, then i have to ask myself, what false God am i worshipping and why. a powerful image and message...one i needed to hear. thank you.

Your getting spiritual on us here. Nice stuff. Reminds me of some of the experimenting I did long long ago in forest far far away. Very fun! KP
