Description

SHY ROSE. This rose appeals because it is shy, note the flower has covered it pistil and stamen with dignity. This is a shy rose blossom. The blossom refuses to uncover after several days. The Rose: This is special. This rose is of Welsh descent, from an old bush my mom had as a little girl and brought to the old family home. From there, a cutting brings this old fashioned bloom to life. I am pleased. The original plant likely came to the USA in the late 1700's or very early 1800's. It is an old fashion creeper/climber rose with sweet smelling white to pink blossoms. Exif info:Digital image, ISO 320, 1/30sec handheld, f/5.6, Sigma 18-130mm at 187mm(35mm equivalent).

An interesting rose, don't think I've seen one that covers its centre like this one, it certainly looks delicate with that slight pink blush, I bet the scent is amazing ... if only we could find a way of photographing smells !
