Description

This was my entry at our local photographic society for a set subject of 'My Favourite Room'. I pondered how to take a photo in a dark room. Long exposures etc did not appeal, so I decided to cheat. The 'darkroom' is set up on my dining room table with a black backdrop. With a normal incandescent lap on, and the aperture fully open on the enlarger, I was set. The photograph being 'exposed' is a print I had done before, just lit by the enlarger lamp. Then came the 25 red filter on my trusty Minotla Maxxum 7, Agfa 200ASA and I had my darkroom shot.

Redrum..redroom..."Murder of the light"...eh....well, it was quite a while since I got the opurtunity to be in a darkroom.....But what I can remember..it was thrilling...and I lost a lot of daytime/sunlight :) Your shot is a moody, splendid catch!!! and it made me remember :)

I do remember the smells in my fathers basement darkroom. This image is poignant in my personal memory. Thanks a bunch for this. Well done. I use digital now but my wife uses film, no darkroom in the house. Great stuff here.
