Together with my daughter I have visited an exhibition for pedigree cats (not sure if that is the right word) the other day. It has been very interesting and fun to take some shots.
This one here is a so called MAINE COON
The Maine Coon cats have their origin in the cold northeast of North America. Many legends climb around their origin. One of them also gave the Maine Coons their name: it's said normal, run wild domestic cats had mated with racoons. Thus, so the acceptance, they came to their half long coat and their fluffy tail.

Sorry it's only in German... maybe someone could tell me about a similar site in English.
BTW my daughter asked a breeder for the price of one cat... it's minimum 550Euros... and they never sell only one... you have to take at least two cats. So I said to her:" Don't ask me anymore for having one, hon!" LOL

This is a delightful image. You've really captured the personality of this "cat". An excellent photograph. Is it a regular cat? I mean, I have a cat and as I understand they are supposed to "meow". And, well, my "cat" clicks and buzzes and I've seen it's head spin around and it's eyes light up. It sorta floats across the floor without moving it's legs and speaks 12 languages. "Cats" are strange creatures are they not?

Pssst...Monika...got something to tell you...will be a long comment this one...just feel it, LOL. Ive been a member here for maybe 1.5 years and ive seen alot of cat portraits (mainly from our Madeleine of her gorgous looking cats that are oh so sweet...thank you for posting them by the way M) but i can honestly say that i have never...EVER seen a more beautiful capture than this one. Well..i am kinda fond of the one i took of my cat as well, but thats only cause im being partial, LOL. Everything in this one screams: PRO-SHOT!!! And its going straight to my favs where i will enjoy this one over and over again....sorry for the long comment...i do belive im done now...bla bla...soon anyway....enjoy the rest of your weekend #:O)

I once had a cat who looked a lot like this one. I don't think he was a pure bred Maine Coon by any means, but the resemblence is striking.
