Description

Went out for a morning walk and saw what was left of this sunflower... and it held its head up high even though its day had gone... In some kind of small way I felt as if I could relate to it on some kind of unspoken level... like my beauty is fading and I am growing older and have been ill recently... still trying to hold my head up but dosn't come as easy as it did once ...I wanted to pick it and take it home .. but I couldn't tear it away from its place there..-didn't seem right... Hard to explain exactly what I mean... ... Even though its time had come and gone I loved this sunflower... or/and the remains of its day... Thanks for all your comments and time... Means allot to me... Big hugs ♥ Kimmers!

thanks , about it looking abstract .. i tried for a 3-d effect by blurring the outside and keeping the inside clearer.. just an experiment really... i know it will only appeal to some, but I am always tried to achieve something new ... just my way... so many sunflowers have been done .. i try to be differant...

Aw Kimmie you sound so down! We're all aging dear!Everyone of us.And its a blessing...Because what's the alternative!...But using those feelings to create your art is a positive thing. That's why this pic is strong.Yes it's a little withered but it's also very bold.It has a pride...Take care of yourself. You are very important to many people here and they would all like to see you well! HUGZZ!!!!

Very strong words and emotional impact to accomadate this image. I can certainly see your reasoning for leaving this in place. I wish you all the best and as far as outer beauty fading, I'd say the most important beauty is the one inside that counts the most! Excellent work on this piece!

Excellent composition, lighting, and concept Kimmers. Remember this ol' adage: Lord give me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, courage to change the things I can, and wisdom to know the difference ~ anonymous. Huggz ... :-)

I do not believe it has seen it's day because it will live on with all it's seeds scattered on the ground to rise again with it's beauty. I can not believe I said that in one breath. excellent foto -v

Kimmers, I love the image and the feelings you shared with it. I can relate to getting older and truly understand how even something old like a sunflower still has beauty. I also think, that is the beauty of getting older; we see life in everything that surrounds us and we also see beauty in people we never met. Get well soon; we all love you and your work.

It is a fine flower! But it's still in its youth. There in its center, tiny young seeds are just begining to form. In a month, they will develope and bring a new beauty and life back to this flower. That's the way it is with flowers all show at the start, but the best part comes later in life. Just a thought :) Hope your feelin' better soon! Hugs and a ~V~

Maybe you are growing older, but your beauty doesn't fade! Good to hear you feel better and keep you head up just like this beautiful sunflower. It's beauty has only changed from being in full bloom just to enjoy, to bear fruit and give life to coming generatons, and thats beauty too!!
