Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 "Travel Safely, Zemela" (cool Cyrrillic, eh? Babelfish - lol) (hmmm-looks different when uploaded - hope it's still correct) Joie and I had the wonderful pleasure of having a houseguest stay with us for a 3-day weekend this last weekend - Fractal artist extraordinaire, Lisa Thallauer ("Zemela" at Renderosity). We had met her and her husband, Thomas(he was tied up working in Pakistan :?( ), along with Joe Pressley(joefraq) and his wife, Krissy, last year in Sarasota for dinner one wonderous night. I can't begin to describe just what a sweet, bright and dynamic personality she has but Joie and I were definitely enriched to have gotten the chance to spend "quality time" with this remarkable young woman of many talents. She is Bulgarian born and she and Thomas live in Austria. Of course, the nights all lasted til past 4AM and this image is the result of me playing around with the Lambda Power formula in the reb.ufm folder while she suggested ucl's. She turned me on to the neat Simple Traps Enhanced Bark coloring in the reb.ucl folder which led to the cool "canvas" or "embroidery" texture in this image which I found thru my usual dumb luck. And I coupled my usual fbm Popcorn Traps shennanigans with just a touch of the mt.uxf - Perlin Noise 3d mapping that she likes, too. After she'd left to go see Joe and Krissy - and after the effects of an entire bottle of margaritas and 3 pitchers of pina coladas had worn off lol - I added a little more stuff, changed the aspect and messed with the colors to get this image which is dedicated to her. Be safe in all your travels about the globe, Lisa, and come visit again ANYTIME! Thanks for the inspiration! Thanks for stopping by and for all of the encouraging words and rankings that y'all take the time to leave for me - positive vibes lead to positive art! Rick (Ok, so I pasted Rendo's "cyrrillic" back into Babelfish and translated back to english from russian and got "Displacement of bezopasn, Zemela" - definitely NOT what I meant - "babble-fish"! lol) ***(Fine art giclee' prints of most of my work are available in limited edition on archival paper or canvas - e-mail: drahcir3@hotmail.com and get busy filling that empty spot on the wall! Unique, "one-of-a-kind" (edition size = 1) prints are also available*** :-)

A beautyful and original fractal. I say original because it looks like it could be an oil painting. Quite remarkable. Vote

Rykk, What a beautiful creation this is! The textures and the understated color make this such a stunning fractal! I tend to love bold vibrant gradients, then I see one like this and it just blows me away. The visual, and emotional impact is different with muted colors! More Please?! Sounds like you had a wonderful weekend too! Leanndra
