Description

Following the feedback I've had on my "request for comments" on Silent Sunset (http://www.renderosity.com/viewed.ez?galleryid=973413), this is part II. The clouds are 2D not 3D, the viewpoint has been lowered and adjusted for better composition and framing, the scene is lighter and the simple haze has been increased a touch. Further thoughts and feedback are always welcome.

Ok, looking better I must say but I have a couple further suggestions if you don't mind. The sky is definitely better, but I think you should raise both the cloud thickness, and darken them. Then bring up the atm blue, or make that the color blue, can't tell which. Then lower the roughness of the waves, I would say to about 15. Less effect from terrain on the water would be good, and definitely less surf. . .or at least use the built in surf. Also take down the reflection of the sun. I usually use about 1-3% direct sun reflection and a spread of about 30-45, but that my personal choice. THe lower POV is better, but it's going to be hard to find a good POV on this terrain from what I see. It looks a little too unnatural with the steep sides but curvy tops. Then render big! and downsize w/ sharpen. Sorry I wrote a lot, if you have any questions about it, don't hesitate to PM me.

Well, well, Bravo to you for having another go!!! I think this is a big leap forward. The clouds are much more natural and the sky is lovely. The pov is more interesting and one can see the great surface work. sanosoke's suggestions are well taken, but as I told Linda recently there are an infinite number of tweaks, refinements and choices to be made and with more time and observation, your skills will continue to grow. EXC work.
