BIO
My name is Todd Shearer and I live in the US, on the east coast, near Washington D.C., but don't hold that against me, it's not my fault...really. I live with my significant other and two beagles, Hephaestus (aka Heph) and Nyarlethotep (aka Nya). and the ghost of Yogsothoth (aka Yogdog) And yes, feel free to make the Indianna Jones joke about my being named after the dog. I am presently one of the great unemployed masses, trying to make my way into being able to almost support myself with my art and writing. I try not to be a one trick pony, doing a landscape here, a portrait there, a pin-up over next to the wall...yeah, there in the corner...or whatever else comes to mind. I read and write mostly horror, though I make a point of forcing myself to read at least one classic "should be read" book every four or five cheesey horror or fantasy novels I read. Presently I am working on Dante's Divine Comedy and coming to regret the choice. My favorite artists are Vermeer, Brughel, Barry Windsor-Smith, Bernie Wrightson and Thom Canty... talk about ecclectic. My favorite writers are Stephen King (there's a surprise), H.P. Lovecraft, James Michener and Douglas Adams. Anything else you wish to know? Feel free to ask and I will do my best to answer. Yerz, Yogdog

WHats in the Hooka!! LOL Nice work indeed!

Superb job. The luminance of her skin is breath-taking and the arabesque textures are done very well. Excellent work!

Wow - lots of details in this...superb cloth painting! The lighting is perfect and all the textures you used are so rich and lovely. The whole color scheme is nice and warm. The only thing that stands out as a 'critical' comment, as you put it, is her right hand. It seems as though it should be resting on the back of the pillow instead of being in a stiff 'Barbie' pose. Sorry, I hate to critisize, even if it's asked for. Makes me feel like a nit-picker or something...especially since your skills are FAR above mine. I do love this though. Stands out in a sea of the same'ole...same ole'...mine included in that same ole'! I guess you leave me no choice, but to vote sigh Oh the pressure!!! LOL LOL Lovely artwork...

WOW...awesome!! The pose is natural and sultry, and the shadows across her skin are dark in just the right places to accent her curves (yes, I've looked hard:). Beautiful work!!!

Being new at Bryce myself, I can see no fault in the execution of the render. The DOF is fantastic as well as the warms and tones of the image. The only critique I have, and it can be said for a LOT of other renders, is that she needs more of an expression in her face. A half smile, raise the eyebrow, and move the eyes side to side and really work wonders for an image. Barring that, this is the kind of image I'm striving to learn to make in Bryce. Bravo.

Stunningly beautiful, clothing, setting, character, your skill. ** OT-When I first started importing objects into Bryce, I asked around about how to catergorize my work. The answer I got was that if it's rendered in Bryce, it's Bryce. Only when the postwork gets too heavy does that change.

the pose and the tatoo are very good, i like the shade of the colors and the mix with the background. it's an excellent composition. have a good day

I agree that the only thing 'wrong' with this is her right hand. Perhaps if she were reaching for the glass.....? However, outstanding work for something just 'thrown' together! 'v'

Mini-tut time.....yeaaaaah! Okay, all my scenes are rendered in Bryce...I prefer the lighting in Bryce to that of Poser. I've seen great stuff from Poser, so I'm not knocking it...just personal preference. Several folks have asked about my skin textures, and the glow I seem to get in them. So here it goes.... I load the figure and whatever texture files I am using from Poser. I either use Ethereal Light and Shadow by TMahna (sp?) or textures I've painted myself. Truly, the exact texture really doesn't matter too much. I set the diffusion to 100, Ambience to 30 using the texture file as the source for the color of the diffusion and ambience. Specularity is set to 30 and is approximately the whitest tint of the general skin color...usually an orangey pink...but really really light... Specular halo color is again the lightest possible color of the general skin tone on the pale half of the color selection pop-up. If you use the saturated color side of the pop-up (the bright carnival color half as opposed to the pale side) you get a funky metallic sheen. Bump is set to 3% and use the texture file as the source. Lips are set up the same way, except they or only 80% diffusion and the specularity are set to 100% with a black halo. Bumb height might be raised to 60% for lips to exagerate the creases in the lips and allow small specular glints. Nipples are set to the same as the rest of the skin but only at 60-90% (depending on your personal fetish or preference) diffusion so they are a bit darker than the rest of the skin. Bryce tends to washout the subtle color changes in Poser textures. I hope this helps anyone asking....yerz, Yogdog

Stunning work! There is nothing about this pic I don't like. If I may ask, where did you get the tatoos for this skin texture (please IM me)
