An approximately 14 year old portrait of my parents. They were always very encouraging and patient with my "artistic" endeavors. Thanks Mom and Dad! ;] A SLR B&W film print, developed and printed by myself. In the darkroom I sandwiched two negatives together to created the effect you see here. I couldn't quite line up the background leaves -- it is hard to control the wind -- and I rather like the effect anyway. This is another example of how copper toning warms up a black and white photo. I've had this print exposed to the air for many of those 14 years, and a discolored line has appeared around the border of the image where it was matted. I assume it results from the copper tarnishing. It is most evident along the bottom of the image and what you can't see from the scan is the shininess of it. I left it in because I feel it gives the photo more of an antique feel. Thank you for all your comments on yesterday's Negative Space photo. I really appreciate all your feedback.
