Description

Thanks for viewing !! :o) -- Hairy Dragonfly, Brachytron pratense Widespread and locally common. The first of the large dragonflies to emerge each year. Adults can be seen from early May to mid July. The Hairy Dragonfly can be found at sheltered lowland lakes, fens and cutover bogs. Unlikely to be confused with other hawker dragonflies due to its early flight period in May/June. Adults are smaller and darker than the Common Hawker Aeshna juncea which is a similar species. Hope you like & have a great saturday !! :o) - Thanks for all your wonderful comments on my last upload, "Lunch Break" !! -- Many thanks, Jeroen

If I can see well, both pictures are from the same shot! This means than, in spite of the few pixels you give us, your original shots are real damned high resolution. Is there a place where we can have them not resized? I know this is not photo-genesis (I've checked)... That would be so cool!

GREAT SHOT OF THE EYE'S LOVE ALL THAT DETAIL YOU GET IN YOUR PHOTO'S. I THINK I KNOW HOW YOU STOP ALL YOUR INSECT'S FROM FLYING AWAY. I THINK YOU PUT A BLOB OF SUPER GLUE ON THERE FAVOURITE PLACE, AND WHEN THEY LAND THEY STUCK AND AT YOUR PHOTOGRAPHIC MERCY. EITHER THAT OR YOU HAVE THE PATIENCE OF A SAINT GOOD HUNTING. CHEER'S BYE V PS-COULD YOU GET FRONT ON SHOT THIS CLOSE SO YOU CAN SEE THE MANDIBLES AND EYE'S THAT WOULD BE COOL NO PRESSURE SUNDAY WOULD BE SOON ENOUGH.
