I write to express emotions. Some emotions are best expressed via music. I also play blues harmonica.BIOMy real name is J.P. and I have been writing since about 1984. Actually longer than that if you count creative writing classes in high school. I started when I got into the Navy; I was a serious romantic, with no avenue to share it with someone. The recruitment posters in the day said things like, "Join the Navy - See the World". Well, three-quarters of the world is WATER. Being away from those I loved drew a deep loneliness that I discovered could be expressed in writing. Been doing it ever since.
The way most of my shtuff comes about is that I feel a deep desire to write, driven by an emotion strongly felt in my heart. Usually, the only way to release that emotion is to start writing. I compare the experience to giving birth. Not that its something Ive ever truly experienced, mind you, but the cycle seems the same. Comes in waves. It is laborious to do. Sometimes I don't like the challenge of picking up the pen, because I know what I'm getting myself into. Not until I know the poem is complete does that emotion subside, and the baby is born.
I've met wonderful people along the way. There is one lady who actually inspired me to get involved with this site. To her goes my undying gratitude.
I sincerely hope you find yourself in these writings. Maybe not as the character, but in the emotion expressed. May what you read inspire you to strive for all that life can be - not in goals and accomplishments, but in the experience of what life is; good, bad, painful, ecstatic, whatever. Grasp it with both hands and never let it go!

First of all, beautiful work, second, sometimes it is the quiet ones women are drawn to.

Have you been back in since to try and see her? I agree with eternalwytch, it is the quiet ones that women are drawn to :o) Is a lovely idea to write about your writers block

Excellent work! Very creative, unique work and art. I loved the foot/shoe in your mouth work here. Luckily, I have small ''FEET''. WINK. T.P.

Excellent bit, I always love writing/reading about writing. The tongue-tiedness is a common trait, I used to get it all the time, so I gave up and got married to one, so that I'd have the rest of my life to get the words right.

HEHE! Your picture drew me in, and the poem tickled at something inside me that giggled like a child. This one is awesome. And, I agree with above.... We like the quiet ones..... they usually have more to say.

The very thought that you ought to write something important and serious (academic paper) paralyzes the most courageous students. Like myself - I've been continuing my education and writing about everything that comes to my mind, including science fiction and fan fiction, but when it comes to a dissertation, I'm completely bewildered, because I cannot rely on the samples or copy anything from the similar papers written by a dissertation writer or PhD expert author.
