Description

Sorry I haven't been around for more than one week, had no time for commenting and so I didn't post anything either. Hope to be able to catch up with you all soon... will take me some time, me thinks... but I'll do my best :o) Wasn't sure to post the original shot or the postwork version... Edit:Have posted the original shot to the Forum right now. For comparison Just curious which one you like more. :o) This image is posted for two friends: Egmont, who has sent me an IM yesterday telling me he was missing my uploads :o) and Gerhard, who encouraged me to do more sepia images :o) Thank you, guys! Thanks for stopping by and any comments. Thank you for your nice comments, rankings and even votes on my previous upload "Get well soon, my friend!" Always highly appreciated. I was looking yesterday for a post from you. to tell the truth I prefer the original capture of fotos without too much departure from reality, but sepia does have it's place. this instance it adds an antique fot quality. your original would be a nice background for Poser

Both are very powerful pieces, with different moods, thus all the different opinions, we all have different moods and feelings. I can't choose, they're equally beautiful!!!!! ***** ;)

Forgive me if I do not look at the colour version. Though I am a fan of colour, you provided us with your personal interpretation in this duo-toned version. By looking at the other one, I feel as though I am betraying you. Strange as it sounds, but that is just how I feel, especially after looking at it several days later. I love trees. They have an important and significant meaning to me and in some way I feel a spiritual connection here. Der Geist von diesen Baum, covered in ivy reminds me of the Norse Mythology and stories of the unexplained. The way the tree stands surrounded, almost guarded by others, sheltering it from outsiders, it is a symbol around which the Druids gather. Thank you dear Monika for posting such a beautiful and deeply thought provoking image. ___ I tried uploading the following comment in the forum, but it just did not want to except my words: Well, what can I say. Curiosity got the better of me. For what it is worth, the colour version is perfect and nice, but it is just another colour photograph. Sorry. The duo-toned version is more deeper emotionally. It made me stop and think. As I always say, colour is emotional and B&W is intellectual. Ah, a contradiction here maybe? No! Colour is a momentary emotion, B&W makes us think and in the duo-toned version I feel a deep connection, an emotion to the past memories of childhood. Stories of heroes and gods. ;~)
