Description
My Family was driving into the a place called "Calico "- (a ghost town that I have shown pictures from in my gallery )and this sign advertised it about three miles down the road/hill from it was a huge sign of a miner in the sky and so I had to get out of the car and shoot .. Bang...
the kids were whining com'on MOMMY HURRY UP ITS GETTING LATE!!! HURRY...
but I couldn't help it - had to STOP the car take it cause it looks so amazing there silhouetted in the western skyline...
OK kids are whining at me AGAIN get up mom we wanna go swimming ..so with towl wrapped around my neck right now..its off to the pool I go .. splish splash!! summer in California is here..!! Got to go to the pool time... yep! lol a mothers work is never done!...

Interesting mottled look in the sky! What a miner. It reminds me of the Paul Bunyan and Blue in Northern Michigan. Cool shot.

@ sultermermaids commet this was not taken with my new camera if so it would have been much clearer.. lol this was taken with my Kodac easy share always handheld in my ghosttown shots but thank you!!.. wish i would have had my new cam for this shot..!

LOL it looks that you like to be around in ghost town areas! Beautiful old camera photography with this real brilliant contrast between the background and the miner! What I like as well is the color difference between the wonderful sky and the red desert! Excellent atmosphere and light setting! V

this one's very special to me, Kimmers...got a special place in my heart for miners. well, i'm assuming these miners were mining for gold...doesn't matter though. so many people in my family are coalminers. that silhoutte against that gorgeous sky is sooooooooo beautiful!!!! and it carries such nostalgia. when i look at this, i can't help but feel so grateful and thankful for all those settlers who came before us and established this country. and i also feel much love in my heart for people like my uncles and other family members who have done back breaking work like this. Looking at the man there...you get a sense how tired he is...just leaning on his shovel. sigh. i also love the depth you got in this one...the way the clouds just seem to go on forever...

It looks more like a silhouette of a cowhand. But surely a beautiful photo - the sky, the clouds, and the amazing silhouette. Next time tell your kids that its "Black Bart," the renegade who ate children who whined!!! :) Hey, kids love a good story! Embelish!
