Description

The Broad-bodied Chaser (Plattbauch, Libellula depressa), here a male, is a common dragonfly at lakes, rivers and swamps. Its wingspan is about 7-8 cm and the lower body is coated with a thin layer of blue wax (only the males; the females are yellow without the wax-layer). Ok, today I'm working on my first two Vue/Poser-pics (a duck-family - yoohoo, thx Lyne!! *s* and something with the Millenium Dragon and a Magician...) ;o) Have a nice day and thx for your comments on my earlier photographs!

@ tizjezzme: no, the wings are normal; the different dragonfly species hold their wings in specific ways - some fold them upside their body, others, like this one, leave them spread out (same as with butterflies, some species fold them up when they rest, others leave their wings spread out). :o)
