Definitely a fanfare of trumpets - I love the way this really stands out from the background and yet the background slightly overlaps the foreground image at the top.

No, Guys, you have it all wrong. This is the French Horn the Beatles used on their Magical Mystery Tour album. Very nice change of pace.

I went into the 60's as a young teenager and came out of them, well, kind of confused. The Beatles were a big influence on me and seeing those guys dressed up like the Sgt. Pepper gang with their french horns at the Live 8 concert on TV yesterday was quite a trip. Maybe Craig put the idea in my head but it looks like that to me as well. Quite the fanfare, a symphony of sight and energy that reaches all of the senses. Julia's gypsy days must have been filled with magic and dancing. Beautifully done!

What really makes this image sing to me is the little gold "yin-yang" type symbol. Excellent texturing also.
