Description
Another water-themed creation.
Out of curiousity, does anyone have any thoughts on what kind of pieces get votes? I've been posting for quite a while, and I've posted a bunch that I've thought were pretty good, and while I may get one or two votes here and there, I seem to be pretty much overlooked. Any suggestions or thoughts?

To get votes you need to brown nose the other members, saying things like "Excellent!!!" "Big VOTE!!!". Garbage like that. I am a bit bitter about it myself, but I'm not alone. Very nice work by the way, the top of her head is a little too transparent though.

Don't worry about votes, you do good work. Votes go to the big names who have developed their own fan clubs and the ones who spend every waking moment commenting on everything. BTW, I think I voted on your last one, although I seem to have forgotten to comment... I think this image would be perfect if you added hair floating around her head, smoothed out the tops of the eyelids, and added eyebrows.

Well, I always give your incredible work a vote!! I think you are one of the very best here, and this is a great example of why!! Excellent work!! V!

I'll vote for it - Excellent - I think its a fab image. I'll reiterate jerald though however I think it's the transperency of the water thats the problem. Speaking of water that's one thing I'd like to learnt to do well - any sugestions.

I think this is phantastic. The submerged part of her upper head looks a bit surreal, which I wouldn't even mention hadn't you chosen "realism" as your genre. What really irritates me though are the glowing nostrils. Still excellent, and I'd love to know how you did it. As for votes, I frankly don't know how that works. One thing's for sure, the more you comment, the more recognition you'll get yourself. This is only natural, with so many images flying around that it's hard to notice everything. So if I like something, I'll make a comment. Trouble is, I hate flattering, and I'm very picky. :-) BTW, is there any way to find out how many votes my image gets, unless it's in the Top 20, or by counting the "V"s people leave? Myself, I only vote for really, really outstanding images, regardless of who made them. I wouldn't have voted for any of mine, that's for sure.

Actually, just to clarify, the nostrils aren't glowing here ... she's submerging her face, and is actually underwater, so those are air bubbles. But, if it's not clear, then I've obviously fallen short of my goal!

The air bubbles in her nostrils and mouth were one of the first things I noticed - one of the first things that made me think "yeah, realism!" On the other hand, the lipstick looks a bit out of place; let's hope it's waterproof. And now that others have mentioned it, hair or a bathing cap would help. Thing is, how many of us have seen this in reality? I haven't, so I'm lacking a reference point.

I'm working myself with water effects, but it's very difficult to get nice results with Poser. Water texture in Bryce is much more realistic, but the characters are worst. Solution can be to mix the two results in photoshop ? Wonderful creation and excellent water texture !

Alrich, I over all like all of your work, heck, I've added you as one of my favorites just so I can see it as you post it. This one is good I like the water aspect. It's far better than I could do. A few observations, her face is lit from the bottom while her shoulders from the top, I figure pool lighting, I agree with hair and eyebrows needed or a very definate swimmers cap made a bit more obvious, her face being slightly submerged explains a lot about the eyes, although the lines of the eyelashes should have been given a bit more umm water effected look and the lips appear to be unaffected by the water all together. I am not trying to tear it apart, kiijs that way maybe, but I did vote for it, and WISH my work were as good as yours. Good luck with the votes, and keep up the work, time improves us all.

Amazing image, expression and light. The waters transperacy, distortion and reflection is fantastic. And you get my VOTE for this one for sure. =) Excellent work!

Playing the posting game and looking for somebody else to tell you that they like your work is good enough, if you can keep it all in perspective. But the real win is to learn to trust your own ability to make those aesthetic judgements and to decide for yourself the value of what you do. That's the only thing that you can take with you. The community worth it's salt is the one that is big enough to allow the excellance of each of it's members room to grow, exercise and express.

I can't speak for an entire group, except to say, nice work, keep experimenting and don't sit around waiting for cheers from the peanut gallery!

Exploring the bounds of art, you did not come up dry on this one! Masterful pose, lighting, and water effects. Even gives a sense she has water in her nostrils!

The people who get the most votes mostly seem to use naked or nearly naked women, which leads me to two thoughts. 1, women rarely leave votes. 2, it's all men viewers It would be nice to take a poll.

a beautiful image.
