Description

Ultrafractal 3.02 -- Apophysis 2 beta17 Here's an abstract composition with a "story" that I've had for a while and I think I've taken it as far as it will go so I thought I'd share it. The three bowing, vaguely nude human forms represent Adam, Eve and the evil one (or Lillith if that is your belief) being driven from Eden by an angry God, represented by the form in the upper left whose shape/movement bears down on the three figures cringing from its wrath. At least that's the the intent - maybe y'all see something else or did I convey the theme ok? The "tree" is a mix of "esa.ucl - ESA Fractal Tree" and Apophysis layers. It occurs to me that all creativity and knowledge originates with God and we who express that creativity thru art, especially abstract, are VERY fortunate that HE has chosen us to be conduits, however imperfect, for His boundless imagination.... Thanks for stopping by! Bubba, this is one fine fractal! I had to give it two or three good looks before I could appreciate all the details, and even at that I'm sure I've missed some. Even without the splendid explanation, it is an evocative work that transcends the medium.

I'm sorry to be so late in commenting, Rick. This is an awesome composition; forms, textures (WOW), colors- each and all, superb! A powerful theme, but I think the power would be implied effectively without the three forms top left. IMO, the 3 cringing forms are enough. Nevertheless, outstanding work!

Technically excellent as always. The moodiness and meaning are a treat. Your 3 figures are particularly expressive in the way they line up and with the bowed posture. The tree is wonderfully subtle, and by being cut off giving a sense of loss.

Rykk, (I'm not here really!!!) this is incredible in composition and in your sentiments. I'm not sure whether Lillith is the same as Satan, Lucifer, Serpent, but the depiction of him being sent off cringing with Adam & Eve is most appropriate, for he has been the chief influence over fallen man ever since! The tree is incredible, and yes, I agree too that we can choose whether to be channels for God or for Satan. I also believe that all creativity is as a result of God's creativity, as He made us in His likeness... Excellent portrayal and symbolism.

It's interesting to read all these somewhat similar interpretations of the story of evolution of mankind. If you see God as a perfect being, it should be impossible to create something imperfect, I think the tree stands for the greatest gift God could have given us, the Freedom of Choice. In my opinion that isn't a fall but a major step in human evolution. Excellent fractal job, Rick!

How appropriate this image seems at a time when the evil of this world decide to wreak more havoc but we pray that goodness will prevail. The atmosphere and artistry of your image fills me with admiration for your skill -thank you

Neat concept piece, Rick. It has a very dark feel to it, but I suppose the wrath of God should feel dark...!

As I was roving through your gallery, this one caught my eye. Having recently visited Arizona, I immediately thought of the imp Kokopelli when I saw this one. All he needs is his flute ;) Love, Mad
