Description

I was standing at the starting line waiting for the race to begin and adjusting my cam. Normally there is a starter gun to signal the start of the race...I didn't hear a gun and suddenly the paddlers were off and running! So here is the result of me whipping the cam up and shooting as the race actually begins without me...Doh! This is the younger children who race 1/4 mile..it's nice to see our young generation carrying on the paddling tradition here in the islands. Many thanks for viewing and all comments! Aloha~

Hey Punaguy, thanks for these great pictures. Are these from the weekend regattas leading up to the Molokai Hoe? I raced 4 years of them when I was living in Honolulu in the late 80s-early 90s. Your pics bring back some great memories, especially all the hard work and practices.....Mahalo!

I think I'd prefer this shot to one taken right at the start - this shows more variation! Beautiful image - wish I could've been there to see it :)
