Description

The Fool is the most complex and most contradictory of all the Tarot cards. The number zero is usually associated with this card. In fact this is simply a shorthand for saying that The Fool has no number. She is outside of such systems: "I am not a number, I am free". As such this card can be considered to fall at the beginning of the major Arcana, or at the end, or anywhere in between. The Fool represents naivety and childlike innocence - yet the Fool is wise. She carries only what possessions she really needs, having thrown off the rest of the materialistic baggage that we carry. She journeys through life, tasting everything it has to offer then letting it go and moving on. The Fool is illustrated as being about to step off a cliff. Is this symbolic of dangerous, impulsive risk-taking? Or does it indicate one who simply refuses to be held back by the problems life throws in our path. Whether the Fool represents opportunity or danger one thing is clear: this world needs more fools. *** Thank you for looking, and for your comments. :)

Outstanding piece of artwork, I really love what you are doing with the series! Very interesting to learn of the value and history of the card! I had an old friend who read tarot cards, but never tought me! I love the colors in this image, of course, and Nyssa looks great as 'The Fool'! I love the objects as metaphors in this piece, also - very well thought out! Excellent artwork!!

WOW, this is awesome art! :D Nyssa looks beautiful here. Another thing that the Fool represents regarding about to step off of the cliff, is her belief and faith in the uNiverse, and that it will always take care of her, and her needs. This is absolutely gorgeous. You asked me to point out any flaws, and I really can't find any in this. Your interpretation of the card is perfect. I love the hair painting and the props and outfit are excellent. The first step can always be a big one, but it's one more people should take! Awesome work.
