Description

The Devil is the representation of temptation, or the over indulgence of sensual pleasures. He's also closely associated with the vices: lust, greed, addiction, hedonism. The experience that he characterizes is marked by dependence, loss of will, the failure of good intentions, as well as courses of action that go against our convictions. The Devil naturally appears to us in his most enticing form as the Tempter. The card shows that we are playing with fire and have to be as careful as hell not to burn our fingers in the process. *** My interpretation of the Devil is probably a lot different than most who are familiar with the tarot are used to seeing. I strayed away from the ugly and stereotypical depiction... reason being, I believe that often in our lives 'The Devil' wears a pretty face. Because he represents temptations and vices, it made sense to me to have him appear outwardly pleasing... and also a little dangerous (and smug!). ;) Thank you for looking, and for your comments.

Awesome image. This is my favorite of the Tarot's yet. He's so dangerous looking and even without the props we know he's trouble. Excellent work.

The concept is very good and the lighting in this one looks awesome - i can't point exactly why, but his shadow looks like it has something "evil" in it! Just suggestion? :D
