Description

After the trip from home to Austria we arrived in Golling in the valley, from where we could look up to a distant cleft with some snow. It was funny to discover the snow was even on the map; direct sunlight reaches this place only on short moments and the snow never melts entirely away. The upper one is shot late in the afternoon, and the lower one is shot early in the morning after a night of abundant rain. Find the differences! ;) Thanks for your attention and your always valuable comments Minolta X-700 (Agfa CT 100, 300 mm)

Quite some difference eh :) I like the lower one because of the clouds.. always great to see cloud covered mountains! It shows their majesty and scale!

I'm with Johannes! He said what I was thinking! hehe... had to smile on the top of that tree in the foreground. In one shot it's bowing to the right and in the second one to the left... hehe

The way sunlight and clouds shift in the mountains even in a few minutes is intriguing. Like a painter discovering the shaodws of a day by painting a scene over and over again this presents variation without choosing a winner. That is my favorite phrase from physics, "It depends..."

the 2nd image is so much more beautiful to me. much more lush colors, so many more details seen, the fog is so beautiful, and that little top of the tree...well, it looks a bit lifeless in the first one. amazing what how water transforms the world, isn't it!!! :)

I find there is something wonderful about being above the clouds. Some nice lines too, especially in the second shot. Kastakan

These shots are amazing! I'll bet this was an incredibly fun trip. The second shot is so much clearer, with the heavy snow gone from the air, and you can see a great deal more detail. Nature always gives us such wonderful material! :-)

It's incredible when we are in a mountain, to see the changes of the clouds and of the sunlight ! Great shots again ! I would like to be there... close to the sky.

I find it interesting that the small tree top branch is facing the other direction. I love the bottom shot of course for it's clarity, but both are magnificent views

I agree with yesitis3. Did the wind change direction during the day. The tree tip didn't follow the sun, did it? Just curious...

How neat to see the differences, and how the moisture in the air effected your ability to see clearly into the distance!

in the second colors changed and there is depth! first one expresses "Schwere" with a mysterious mood because of the missing details, the second one is inviting and delightful, a wonderful sunny view! outstanding photos, Jan! ;o)
