Description
This is the conceptual stage of my first attempt at matte painting. The foreground trees are the original plate, the rest is painted, with the exception of the castle which is rendered in Vue from a Sven Daennart model. The painting was done in Photoshop and Dogwaffle.
The next step will be to dig into the detail and address parts that are roughed in such as the cliffs, and distant terrains as well as addtion clarification of the sky( as yet have not figured out the cloud patterns so we have a miss mash at the moment ;-) )

First reaction was - "where on earth is this unfinished?" Rhen i saw it - on earth so to say. But i hope you don't do too much on it. I love the roughness of the cliffs, gives it what it is - a painting. Excellent one Ken. No, much too weak for that. A brilliant one is the better expression.

just beautiful, love the aspect too, very nice to see. Can you render it larger say, with a width of a few million pixels? Just kidding.

Excellent work -- not sure there's much room for improvement, however :o) One thing: The castle looks "backwards" to my eye. I'm wondering if it were mirrored (but in the same location) if it would look more balanced in the scene? But that's a minor thing...

Mind blowing work...I'm really looking forward to this future masterpiece....... V

Excellent light, detail, coloring, blending to the slightly hazy and thus visually correct distance. Great sun/shadow line effect on forrest trees and castle! Very artistic painting, shows great skill and care.
