Description

This is the conceptual stage of my first attempt at matte painting. The foreground trees are the original plate, the rest is painted, with the exception of the castle which is rendered in Vue from a Sven Daennart model. The painting was done in Photoshop and Dogwaffle. The next step will be to dig into the detail and address parts that are roughed in such as the cliffs, and distant terrains as well as addtion clarification of the sky( as yet have not figured out the cloud patterns so we have a miss mash at the moment ;-) )

This is a masterpiece, Ken! Personally I would had left it as it is right now (to avoid overworking reslults) but if you feel that its not finish, then keep up with it. Anyway, Im curious to see the result.

OH MY GOD! This is unbelieveable. I would certainly never associate the term "unfinished" with it at all. I do think this is one of your best works so far and can't wait to see more. In my opinion, it's perfect. I wouldnt' change a thing. I love the fantiastical vegetation and waterfalls. Vote.

Excellent painting in the making! Have you used any photograph in this at all? The sky looks for all the world as though it's from a photo, and the whole picture looks as though it could be a painting of a panorama. The foreground you say is the original plate, is that a photo? Just curious as to how you're putting this together, that's all. I really do like it, and look forward to the finished production! Excellent!
