I am Alan I was born and raised in the hills of East TN (God's Country) Lived there for over 37 years. Through friends on AOL I met Kim. After numerous trips to FL in a lil Nissan truck... we figured getting married and me moving down here would save us money and since I had nothing holding me back I moved on the agreement that when her kids were out of Highschool we could move back. If not for her I would not be in this Sandy Flat Hurricane Bullseye State.BIOHave been a hobbyist photographer since highschool and artist as well when the mood hits me. If I am not in the mood to draw or sketch nothing comes out right. I graduated highschool with vocations in Photography and Commercial Art. I took Commercial art for fun and to see what I could teach them.. LOL. It was my senior year and I explained to the instructor I wanted both CA1 and CA2 courses Jammed together. Of course the first thing he was teaching this class of mostly freshmen was perspective drawing... eyelevel birdseye view etc. Our first assignment in the class was to draw a city in eyelevel perspective. All the students came up with basically the same thing as the instructor ... except I wanted to be different my city was the background for an interstate highway in the foreground with an eyelevel perstective 18 wheeler truck passing by.
All the other students got upset that the instructor did not show them how to draw a truck...his response was "I did jnot show him how to either" I remember I got an A- on the work I forgot one element "shading under the truck". That same year since it was my last in Highschool they stuck me with a hour of study hall.... I changed out of that and retook a class I had passed two years ago... the instructor tried to talk me out of it. She said that because I was in Commercial Art that, that type of art was so precise and commercial oriented that it would interfere with my creativity. My response was "Watch me" That year I had two pieces entered into state contests one went to a museum and I never saw it again. Oh well. after HS I never persued college now in hindsight I wish I had. I took a job as assistant mechanic, worked as inventory control in the court house ... and eventually was a delivery driver for 11 years. Now here in FL I have been sole manufacturer for a water filtration company... a processor for Goodwill, and currently a delivery driver again.
