Hello. Apparently I have followers--and I haven't even posted anything yet!!!
I have no ego insofar as the 3D programs I use, nor the hardware. This 3D hobby is one which competes with other hobbies.
Not being wealthy at all, I'm often at a crossroads what to choose and what to forego. I currently use Daz and that sort, BUT I do plan on getting a good tablet to use with Z-Brush core. Also blender cycles, turbosquid, MikuMikuDance, XNALara, and possibly others are of interest (or have been used in past).
My other interests simply are what they are, and if you actually try to get to know other folks, like an actual human being should, you'll find them out soon enough. :)
Generally speaking while I'm not un-approachable, it may be hard to keep my interest sometimes. Admittedly, some sour experiences have made me cranky. While it's still an unsure thing to some of us whether or not A.D.D. is an actual disability/disorder, the spontaneity of it is a blessing and a curse. I do not ramble IRL, but it's like magnetism once something attracts attention from me. Online, I notice I do tend to not be as concise, unless it's curtness or sarcasm. Either way, it isn't meant to be personal nor annoying. I may have some trouble on particulars, please be patient. I'm not a kid, well, not a child. We're all kinda kids at heart. I don't pick up and learn things as fast as I used to, like a natural. Tend to get hung up on a lot of things. Life gets in the way, as does everything else. Also, if I disengage prematurely, I don't mean to do it and it's one thing that still occasionally happens. Guess it's what they call being space-case. :D
Laying out ground rules:
>Don't get political or try to politicize towards me, this is something I want to do as escapism and a spare time hobby--attempts will be ignored, and repeat/concerted efforts will likely get you blocked because I refuse to go there. This kind of thing kills online forums and communities, and it rather amputates creative potential more than creates it. While I'd prefer clarity to agreement, frankly if I'm here it should mean to anyone else I'd just rather not go there, so whatever it may be let's agree to disagree in advance. Be adults about this.
>Just because we're friendly here does not mean we know each other IRL. I like what I see here as an online community. Please do not make me regret that.
>Turn offs are: hubris, ego/unwarranted one-upsmanship, trying to always impress, patronizing and condescension, being a know-it-all, going on a power-trip, seizing on what you think others don't know.
Otherwise it's all good.
Yes, I may just make certain kinds of art but not others, or maybe some kinds I keep separate from one venue or another (for a reason). I'd respect yours if your situation were like this so I ask the same in return.
Irony to the point of hypocrisy is something I won't go for. Not knocking you hip, trend-setters out there. However, you can keep your irony, I'll strive for consistency instead. I am *not* one of you. I'm saying this because it's the truth. Yeah okay, I might have a sense of style, might be able to predict this or that, maybe even like things which are vintage or retro sometimes. Yes I may even scoff at mainstream stuff and labels, occasionally. May even like some girls with glasses. However, all of that honestly doesn't really mean jack squat.
Lastly, let's try to be constructive about criticisms towards one another, eh?
See you around.
