"When we walk to the edge of all the light we have
and take that step into darkness of the unknown,
we must believe that one of two things will happen:
There will be something solid for us to stand on,
or we will learn how to fly."

It all started when I was 2 years old. That's when I started to draw my first recognizable shapes. By the age of 4 I had decided that I would be an artist. For the most part that idea never really changed. Even in my early youth, inspired by horror movies and the wave of 80's fantasy such as "Beastmaster" & "Conan", I sketched endless arrays of horrifying and fantastical worlds when I was supposed to be paying attention in school. While the teacher preached history I was creating history for the worlds that existed in my own imagination, brought to life with story and illustration. By 16 I had begun a full time college course schedule in a degree of Fine Arts. It wasn't long before reality kicked in and I realized making a living through a Fine Arts major isn't likely. I relocated and did what I figured was the next best thing. I got a degree in Graphic Design so I could be creative and commercial at the same time. Currently I make a decent living as a grunt work designer for a printing business, while I spend much of the free time I have playing video games, or chasing the old artistic dream. Being technically inclined it's only natural that I eventually traded in my brushes for a digital pen tablet. Photoshop became a trusted friend and companion. I first delved into 3d as a 2d artist who thought it'd be great to have a model always willing to pose, in diverse scenery, with any lighting I could think up. It would be a huge artistic resource, so I played with Daz Studio, and eventually Poser, Bryce, and now ZBrush. I never expected to, but the amazing art I found in this community made me fall in love with 3d as an art form beyond it's use as a 2d reference material. These days I find myself creating with a hybrid style that combines photo manipulation/reference, digital painting, and 3d modeling/renders. That being said, I know I still have a lot to learn when it comes to 3d, but it's a journey I am enjoying all the way.
