I was inspired to write this story after reading several articles about the world's most remote places; any of them seemed an excellent setting for a horror tale, so I picked my favorite. I'm also currently reading H.P. Lovecraft's "At the Mountains of Madness," which also provided some inspiration. In all, it took four days to finish: three days for research and writing, and another day to edit. I hope you enjoy "Six Skeletons"! (The story is exactly 1,000 words.
