Entry #4

Sorry I missed last year's contest. It was a busy year. Bradbury's Something Wicked This Way Comes has been a favorite of mine since middle school. I had wanted to do an homage, featuring a Dark-like character who popped into my head, ("So, what'll it be? Crying and pleading? Or stoic silence? Of course, you could just run." That's how he introduced himself to me) and of course a carousel; but I had no real protagonist, and just couldn't find the door into that world. Many of my stories (they're forthcoming, I promise) take place in a universe that I created, that I refer to as The Tears of Isis. There are a handful of characters that I know pretty well, and Justin Lamoreaux, free-lance exorcist and paranormal problem solver, is one of them. Yes, he has his precedents in Dresden, Castor, Constantine and D'Amour (bonus points if you know all of them), but Justin certainly has his own voice and he decided to tell me a ghost story that he called: Spirit Trap. We hope you like it.
