This is the forum that has the most folks, thus why I posted here...move it if you must, overworked moderators. This may also fall into the "who cares...why are you wasting our time" category. I made a large wallpaper--1024x768..2.1meg bmp...suppose I could cut it down...however, I think it looks pretty cool...its just a fractal, but it has a 3D look to it, it actually looks pretty cool,...at least I think so... If anyone wants a copy, let me know..maybe it can be emailed..otherwise, here's a jpg edition that under 100k to check out...but it does not even come close to how it really looks....

I think it looks pretty cool too. :)

Interesting. What are you using to generate these?

Mmm, let me guess. Did you make it with the Fraxplorer from Kai's Power Tools 5?

spiderman would look good in there somewhere.

A Winner !!! Yes KPT 5...I've always liked fractals...was, believe it or not, actually making wallpapers...this one just has a terrific 3D look...reminded me a lot of sitting at the IMax with the glasses.... When its full screen and not all compressed as the above example, it really stands out. Now to put a poser character in there someplace :) I'm thrilled by such simple stuff LOL

Well, I think it is way cool, and would love to have an uncompressed copy. I remember using Fractint long ago and watching images build line by line (386 with no math co-processor). I even foggily think there was one before that.

movida ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 9:11 PM

I like it a lot too

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 9:14 PM

well, if anyone thinks it can be emailed..I'll send it over... don't have anywhere to post it, otherwise I would

Heya Dave-So! Great fractal and welcome :) In this forum there is no such thing as "just a fractal" they are serious business :) Did a quick check on your gallery thinking maybe we have another fractalist and see that you don't have any fractals posted there? how come? Don't be shy about them. Yes, please, It would be cool if you could send me a copy of that background. Can you zip it up some how to mail? bmp's generally compress really well in a zip type file.

Dave-So ( ) posted Thu, 12 December 2002 at 9:33 PM

Thanks firefly .... I've been "messing" with fractals for quite awhile....I think they look really neat, but just never posted any. I always felt there were just so many of them...but each is truly unique :) As far as zip..yes, it zipped to half --- which email to send it to.... Now to animate that baby...my kid said it would probbly cause eptileptic fits or something :)

yep, I've always considered fractals to be kaliedescopic types of living patterns. My very favourite kind... well, ok, I like paisley too (grin) hehehe, bi-directional movements with the two main layers on that image would be very cool. And, what's wrong with epileptic fits while travelling the fractal zone (giggles) perfectly natural if you ask me!!

Groovy, man! It would be cool as a black-light poster too ;-)

Dave-So, are you aware that there is also a Fractal Gallery here? You should visit!

Fractals will always amaze me!
