Is it possible to use Poser figures in Maya? Just wondering.

I wish I had Maya to check and see. =) Sadly, I can't afford something like that, though I'm sure it's possible, seeing as how poser exports Alias/Wavefront .obj, and Maya is by Alias and uses .obj. =) Rosh

Well, actually I have access to other graphics programs. I got a new job working at a computer animation lab at a college. Most of the students are using Maya, so that's the program I'm going to crash learn. Oh yeah, can poser figures be used in Lightwave as well?

Hi szeven, the poser figure has to be exported as an OBJ from poser and then Maya can read it. The figure can then be smoothed and the textured added. Sorry can't remember all the steps just now. The only thing is the model can't be posed as it is in poser. A skeleton structure has to be built for it and this is attached to the model. After this it can be posed. I understand that Maya 3 will come with some prebuilt models and animations sequences. if you need any more detailed information you could try the Maya forum... http://highend3d.com/maya/tutorials/ best regards, Tribe.
