Yes this was just a quick test render so textures were off and AA was off. It took about 7 minutes to render 145 frames with these settings. This is just practice to get timing, etc. right but I plan on having it fire and missiles come in and explode to practice doing those as well. I used Ace of Wav to create the wav file then used VirtualDub to add it to the .avi and compress it. It took about 2 hours I'd say to work on the animation itself. Just did 1 step for each leg then had it repeat for the duration. One thing I found is you have to select each part individually then go into the AML and select repeat (only for those peices that actually are animated). If you select all peices at once then do the repeat it doesn't work right for some reason. Still learning all the in's and out's. :) Glad everyone liked it even though it's a very rough render.
There's a repeat animation feature? I thought that was just for playing a rendered animation in a video-player. I learn something new here every day. I could have used that option in a character animation I made once.

Almost forgot. If you are wondering what the spheres and posts are. The posts are 100 meters apart (1 Bryce unit = 1 meter) and the spheres are markers I used to determine where to place the feet as the mech moved forward. So everything is to scale. At 43 kph the mech moves 72 meters in 6 seconds. Each stride for one foot is 16 meters (ie when each foot moves it covers 16 meters). I used metric even though I'm in the USA because factors of 10 are easier to calculate than miles/feet/inches. :)
Yes Rayraz there is. :) Select the object you wish to repeat. Go into the Advanced animation lab, shift-click the object (making sure your time scrubber is set to the full length you want) and select repeat. There is also pendulum and a couple others I don't remember. If you don't have Real World Bryce I highly suggest getting it. It goes into great detail.

This is just a rough test animation with no AA and preview mode render. Just did this to get a hang of animation in general and working out how the mech should walk also how to put sound into a video which is something new to me. :)If the mech looks like it's going fast that's because it's travelling at 43 kph. :)
Let me know what you think.
