Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
What a scam!
Well, just an FYI, the V3 does come with all of the morphs and I am currently working on putting them into MOR poses.
I have tried some of them so far it seems that V3 has almost all of the same morphs that V2/V1 have and then some.
I wonder if it is legal to give away the MOR pose files that I have created? I mean the morphs already come with V3, all one has to do is load them. Hmmmm.
Well thanks for the inoput anyway.
John
Oh well...I am pretty un-thrilled with the fact that they are trying to make us pay for all of the base morphs now.
How do they expect us to create more characters off of this model? They profit from the products that other people make from their models so I don't see what all the greed is for.
They could have kept things the way they were but no, they want to see if they can squeez even more out of us. I could go on for hours. Oh well, now you know :)
The same is not true for the head though. All of the morphs that are available with the base model are already shown.
You really do have to buy the head morph package to change the faces.
John
Here's Daz's own words on how V3 is packaged - Victoria 3 is a modular product, designed for effective upgrades and add-ons, both by DAZ and third party developers. With a higher resolution mesh and more extensive morphs, V3 would weigh in at about 75 MB if it were all one product, and of course this would coagulate the average dial-up download. So DAZ makes this feasible by breaking V3 down into three saleable products. This serves a dual purpose: it makes for a smaller downloadable packet at an economical price, and it also gives the user the choice to purchase only the morphs they want at the time. That's the FAQs :-)
Why shouldn't speech be free? Very little of it is worth anything.
Okay, I could see that if all of the files were too large and so on. But they already ship the morph targets with the base, so the only thing that you need to actually make your own body styles is a MOR pose file to load all the morph targets into the model. The other addons, such as textures and hair, have always been seperate packages. But now you cannot make new facial poses and characters unless you use magnets or have some type of 3D modeling experience and software. Just seems like they are moving in the opposite direction with this new model, that's all I am saying.
And why didn't they include the MOR pose files for all of the body morphs? It seems like they are trying to make people pay for a feature that is already included but hidden.
Just seems odd, that's all.
"You must have bought the Body Morphs the !DAZ folder only appears when you install either the Body or Head morphs package." I bought the V3 upgrade, and maybe I was explaining it wrong but the morphs are included, all the dials are just hidden. That is what I meant. Like I said though, I have created all of the MOR pose files for all of the body morph targets. Then I have a MOR file that loads them all at once like the "All Expression INJ". I just don't see why they would hide the dials. Thanks for the info though. Also, where can I find morph manager? Thanks.
This is coming up a lot. The total amount for the base and all the morphs is still less than V2 was when released, if you total them up. The way I understand what Dave71 is trying to show us is that yes, the morph dials are there and hidden, and you can unhide them even without buying the morphs, if you are tech-savvy. But just because you can show the dials doesn't mean that the delta information -- which are the change instructions for vertices -- will be there. Without buying the morphs, unhidden dials are empty dials.
The Vicki3 Base package HAS morphs. NOT a lot, it's a limited set. So when you say you have morphs, yes, you have a limited set but not the full set of morphs that Daz has created, those morphs are in other packages. As for creating new morphs and new characters, you have the ability just as you did with Vicki2. Load up a 3d package n play with the mesh, save out the changed geometry and do a little dance and build your morph. one of the advantages of the morph injection system is that users can load and unload just the morphs they want or need, from different packs etc. So if ya like a morph from one pack, a morph from another pack load um, and have a new character. This give people a LOT of variations, you can combo all sorts of things. Male morphs with Vicki3 that are truely un Vicki2 or Mike 2 looking. Daz3d has already stated that Arcana will have tutorials on creating injections so people can create packs for distribution as well as more info on Vicki3. Vicki3 is a whole new ball of wax, err mesh, err 3d oh hell, she's just new give her some time to grow on ya.
Hi, This is for Dave. What is the Morph Manager please? I did a search both in free items and market place and could not find it. It looks like a great tool. Thanks! Warm Regards, Nancy

Just think of all the advantages You can now look in her ear. Peer up her nose Still no vagina though You will also have to get rid of all your Poses and Mats if you use Poser4. and at the end of the day she won't be much better than Stephanie who really is not much better than Victoria2 I am still waiting to see something better than Asia Yuma Noa etc with one of Kozaburo hair styles.
Yuma and Noa are by StefyZZ. She does wonderful textures and that really make her products and her textures by themselves stand out. I dunno who Kozaburo is or what his hair looks like, but I'd be interested if ya have a link. Maybe I'm not understanding but, Vicki3 offers a TON more than those other models do. Fixed joints for one thing for more natural posing, higher mesh for more verticies to play with morphs. Some people think all the millenium caracters suck and love posette. Some artists only use poser low-res models for animations. Daz just threw one more model into the mix, if ya don't want her or think she aint all that, dont buy her. I don't see the prob. lots of morphs and new stuff thats easy n fun to play with for me.

Here's a link to Kozaburo's site, he's the creator of some of the best transmapped hair I've had the good fortune of using & it's all free.Attached Link: http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=1014633
To find Morph Manager, do a look-up on Mason in the FreeStuff section, or copy/paste this link: http://www.renderosity.com/freestuff.ez?Form.Contrib=Mason&Topsectionid=0 You can make MOR files that automatically load the correct morphs and set them to the value you want. rbtwiz and I both give examples on how to do it. (That's the clickable link above.) DAZ does state in several places that the base V3 doesn't come with many morphs, so I really don't think you can call it a scam. It's a bit like getting the low-Res Vicki - nice for some things, but not the top-end product. Cheers!Thank you very much for the link! Warm Regards, Nancy

JaeJae, Scam? Well that is a lousy thing to say. Actually the injectors are so that you don't have to use or buy what you don't want. It is what people asked for. She is cheaper than V2 was. If you feel cheated or "Scammed" just return her and be done with it. Anton

I understand it's cheaper but on the downside it will cost much more to create your own characters in the long run if you have to buy the base morphs that the V2/V1 figures came with. At least with the dials there you have the option to create a character or tweak Vicky to something that you like. I don't understand how the morphs on the V2/V1 model were ever a burden to anyone. I've never once heard someonce say "I wish there weren't so many options on this model". If you don't want to use the morph dials then you don't have to, but to not even have them there at all just seems silly to me. Obviously Daz doesn't have to include them, but to say they were left out becuase that's what people wanted doesn't seem realistic. Why would I return the model? The model itself is great. Can't I voice my disagreement with a purchase I make? I mean come on, if I spend my hard-earned money on something I should at least be able to discuss my dicomfort with the item. Or should I just return it and shut up...don't be silly.

Well I am sorry that my statement came off as an accusation, that is just the way I talk...err type. I was just verbalizing a supprised response because I wasn't aware that the model didn't include all of the base morphs as the other model did. My original question was answered by rbtwiz and I was satisfied with that. I still have my own personal issue with the way it was packaged but I didn't intentionally mean to imply that Daz is ripping everyone off...it was just a figure of speech.
John

This is a perfect example of what happens when people don't read the product descriptions before they buy. I fail to see how any of this can come as a surprise to anyone. All the information about this products compatability with accessories for previous versions is clearly stated both in the product description and in the FAQ. The uproar about the pricing was futile as well, since everyone could plainly do the math for themselves. It's not the merchants fault if the consumer fails to read the BOLD print, let alone the fine print.
When you buy the base set you get all the morphs like V1. When you buy the body morphs you get all of the morphs like v2/m2. THey added all those muscularity morphs (that you need to look up in the medical dictionary to find out what they do) If you add all the prices together, you pay the same as for v2. What's to complain about? Having to click 3 times? Lyrra

I may sound stupid for asking this but why can I not find any morph dials or MOR poses for the V3 body?
Did DAZ leave them out this time?
Now I hope I am not doing all this work for nothing but I have found that all of the injection morphs for the V3 body are contained in the Libraries:!DAZ:Body:Deltas folder and that I can create my own MOR poses for the body parts...but I am wondering if this is necessary. Did I miss something?
Thanks for any help.
John
