Here's the link again in case you missed it , though it's been in the "3D Links" forum for awhile now. http://www.theforce.net/scifi3d/.... here's that Maul I was talking about too , I think it's an awesome mesh.

Holy shit, that totally blows mine away! That is insanely detailed. My GOD, is that a full body mesh, or just the head? Do you think he would release it to be ported to Poser? Imagine what could be done with that! co(V)(V)union

Here is the link from the studio that designed this Maul mesh, and just an FYI: it is just the head. Pretty impressive though, nonetheless. Anyway, check these guys out, they ROCK! http://www.madhousedesign.com

Maya I believe is the render package. Even though it's just the head it can be plopped onto any male body really because it's always covered up. But did you see his Predator?! Man that blows this Maul away!

My 2 cents: Also if you look at the mesh under the render, it's not that detailed. SEE what a good Texture, bump and good UV mapping does! People we can do just as well IMHO. Finding a hires shots of faces seems to be the only hard part. (men mostly) As for horns and other morphs, I think we have the talent here also. I think my Geisha speaks to that. And the Geisha was completely rendered in Poser 4 with only the background done in PhotoShop. But it's good to see these things, it inspires us all! James

looks like maya i have had the honor to work with that once, but let me tell you need a hall of athlon machines to make it run quite well with respectable render time :-) for those interested in high-end rendering software i may suggest softimage sumatra! very great rendering engine for organic an natural looking stuff! -Ede

Yea. Those models are great and all. But they are big files even in MAX. When a MAX file is converted to an .obj file. They explode!!! I doubt they will be usable in Poser. Speaking of the sci-fi 3D site. I converted a Kaadu that was posted there to a poser figure. I added textures and moved a few vertices around as well. But I can't get the guy to return my e-mails. I keep asking him for permission to post the figure to the public. But I get no answer. Man I really hate that! Anyhow. Here's my JarJar on the Kaadu that I can't post. kaadu.jpg ScottA iamsba@aol.com

looking at the darth maul mesh i must say it's not even as detailed or as complex as the poser meshes are it just must be a pretty BIIIG Texturemap and bumpmap http://www.madhousedesign.com/Character_Design/Maul/maul.html -Ede
