For whatever reason, all of a sudden Poser gives me an "insufficient memory to render at this resolution" error message when I attempt to render an image in a new window at 300 dpi. This has never happened to me before ... it started last night when I attempted to render an image including Victoria with some clothing, the RK Dungeon, and the Mil Dragon. I thought perhaps it was simply the quantity of objects and high resolution textures in this image that was the problem, but now I can't even render a simple Victoria figure with no mats at all at 300 dpi. The only other thing I did last night was download a few things small things from DAZ. I constantly try to keep a handle on the files within Runtime ... I'm at a loss. I have a Pentium 4 2G Processor, 1G of RD Ram, 80G Hard Drive with 40G free. Running XP ... have my paging file size maxed out at 3072, and have never had any problems even rendering a Bryce file at the same time I'm rendering a Poser file, with several other programs running as well. Does anyone have any ideas to try? I surely would appreciate it, because I'm going to pull every red hair outta' my head if I can't correct this bloody problem!!!!!

Try deleting all the temporary files from your web cache.

Two things have helped me with this problem in the past: 1.) I moved Poser to a different hard drive than Windows. That helped the most. 2.) The problem still creeps up once and awhile. The solution then is to defrag the hard drive. I recommend frequent defragging.

I never mess with the Virtual Memory. However, my method definitely works.

Is it possible to move poser to another drive without uninstalling it and re installing on the new drive. I have had similiar problems even though I defrag frequently. In other words can I just grap the curious labs folder to a different drive?

I've done so several times. The only time you have to reinstall is if you move that drive to another computer. You do need that CL memory fix I quoted though or system gets confused and you are stuck with rendering in the display window. Whether you defrag or not. My worst probs came right after a defrag and cleanup of temp files. Haven't done it with Poser5. Now that the security's off it should be possible. But I don't know for sure. Emily
