just wondering how you would put a sword in a hand other than moving it again and again till it looks like its in the hand, wondnering if there is somthing like conform that would put the sword or prop in the persons hand.

what you want to do do is set the figure parent of the prop to the hand you want it to be in.

Ask me a question, and I'll give you an answer.

Some props are designed to automatically position and parent themselves to a body part when loaded; these are called smart-props. If yours doesn't do this, then there's no solution but the hard way: doing it yourself, manually. The good news is that you only have to do it once per item; after you've got it set up, you can resave the prop to the library as a smart-prop.

How do you resave as a smart prop?

  1. Position the prop where you want it.

  2. Parent it to the body part. Object menu --> Change Parent.

  3. Open the Library palette.

  4. Browse to one of the Props folders.

  5. click the + symbol at the bottom of the palette to save the prop.

  6. Do not click the "Select Subset" button in the resulting dialog panel.

  7. Give the prop a new name and click OK.

  8. Poser will ask if you want to save the parented item as a smart prop. Say yes.
