I agree with Aldaron. In my opinion, Bryce isn't great at allround modeling (though it defintely does have its moments), but some people (looks at pidjy) get some seriously good models out of it. Wings3d (http://www.wings3d.com) is another very good free modeller out there.

sorry... to me that's like asking "how good is a stick of charcoal?" To some it's something to shovel out of the fireplace and throw out with the trash and in the hand of others can create beautiful works of art. Learn to use Bryce properly (which I'm still working on), and you can do things that even high-end modelling apps can't do.

In my opinion Bryce is professionaly under-rated and Corel needs to re-think Bryce's promotion. Bryce CAN model very well. I use very little else when it comes to modelling. OK, so from time to time I import DXF and 3ds, but you only have to look at several sites from this forum (incluing mine) to see what Bryce can really do. Bryce was originally produced for landscapes (and abstracts) So, modeling in it can be a tricky art of sorts. It can be frustrating, especially with organics. But, then I see what some of these people are doing and it blows me away. AS
