Subject: I'm Confused about Steph...

MachineClaw ( ) posted Fri, 24 January 2003 at 1:48 AM · edited Tue, 07 January 2025 at 12:44 AM

Steph is based on Mike2. Steph can wear Vicki2 clothing right? can steph take vicki2 textures or only Mike2 textures? which bodysuit works with steph mikes or stephs? can a steph texture somehow be used on Vicki3? I'm so lost. any help demystifing Steph would greatly be appricated, I've read over and over again the Daz page and I'm still lost.

1) Yes, Steph is supposed to be able to wear Vic's clothes. It doesn't work always, tho. 2) Steph doesn't take Vic Textures, but does take Mike's (look at the image to see what NOT to do... LOL!) 3) Not sure. Bodysuit as in catsuit? Use Vicky's (see #1). 4) Only with modification in Photoshop (et al). Hope this helped.

That is scary! I'd like to see someone put that in a temple...

Steph has her own textures. Of course DAZ sells some but there are free ones lurking around--and some really pretty ones at that. Do a search for the freebie section. Victoria's clothes usually do fit Stephanie. Of course with catsuit, I usually end up turning off most of the body parts on whatever figure is wearing it so I don't get poke through.

Yikes that is kinda scary pic. Thanks for the info. I guess I'm in for major tweaking when I get Steph this weekend. UGH! So many models, so many requirements, one confused artist.

Huh? What's the problem?

Most of my free mike textures have minimal bodyhair ... they look good on steph. Note: unless they fixed it recently her nipples don't line up with Mikes. So you may have to fiddle with that, or use Bloodsong's UVS to remap her. (THink it was Blood) And AprilYsh made a 'Steph to V skin' version that takes Vickies maps. Wheee :)

heyas; okay.... stephanie is made from michael's geometry, with victoria's proportions/joints. stephanie takes michael's morphs. stephanie wears victoria's clothes. stephanie takes stephanie textures. stephanie has been remapped to take michael textures, by me; you can get that at 3d menagerie. stephanie has been remapped to take victoria textures, by aprilysh. which you can find if you search for april's member page. if you un-stephanie-morph stephanie, i believe she has victoria's shape, but i doubt it is exact enough to take a "cat" suit. (it's a body suit, how'd it end up being called a cat suit, anyhow?) doesn't she have her own body suit?

Well, let me give you my take on Stephanie: She is a female figure that happens to use Mike mesh, except she got a new hip (and maybe head, I can't remember). She has two versions, Stephanie and "Vickie Shape", the last lets her wear some Vickie clothing, but the real shape is better (and proabbly better than Vickie 1 or 2), The clothing I have for her at DAZ works with her real shape, incidently. If you use the "Vickie shape", she really isn't an improvement over Vickie in any way, unless you want to use Mike morphs (except for the hip) or textures. In her real shape is isn't "manly" at all, BTW!

Aiko uses Stephanie's .obj mesh :) (incidentally, I only keep Steph in my runtime because I love to mess with Aiko :) /P

Okay, I bought Steph. Shes only 4mb!? Vicki2 and Mike2 were way larger than that! oh well, I guess I'll now have a joy of a time hunting down all the Steph freebies around the various sites. Thanks for all the tips n info. I didn't much care for Aiko character, too magna/anime for my tastes, but I'm glad its available more veriety for those that do need or want it.

ParSalian ( ) posted Sat, 25 January 2003 at 3:52 PM

Hi, if you own Victoria2 or 3 you can forget Stephanie. I dosen't know what DAZ think to make a second woman based on Mikes mesh and texture, only making money?!

bloodsong ( ) posted Sat, 25 January 2003 at 6:05 PM

heyas; steph is reportedly better at doing muscular women than victoria. i like her, because every morph i get for michael, i can also use on her. she does have the same head, so all michael 2's morphs and boris and all that work with her. she does have a new hip, thanks for pointing that out, jim. since she can steal victoria's clothes and her textures, i have it made. of course, i never bought victoria in the first place, so if it's just a toss-up between buying victoria or stephanie by herself.... that's another story.

MachineClaw ( ) posted Sat, 25 January 2003 at 11:01 PM

ParSalian, uhhhh, diversity thats why I wanted her. She "LOOKS" different than Vicki, Judy, Posette. Variety is the spice of life. It's not just a matter of Daz making more money, yeah they are doing that, but they are also adding to the diversity in the marketplace. Anyway, it's why I got Steph, it's a bit confusing, but I'm learning.
