Subject: A few questions on these challenges?

  1. Somehow I have not found the part about how all this works... a nice summary of the system please? 2) I vote that challenges be entered into with the concept not just of showing off one's fancy renderings in the end, but making available the models, textures, and whatnot one did it with for all in the free stuff section. 3) So if I want to challenge folks, how do I do so? Just put up a jpg of a subject and type of idea that looks good, and ask anyone, or what??

Hi Bast, Welcome The challenges are in there infancy here at Renderosity, and we hope to have a Gallery to display the work and also some forms to fill out providing information such as what applications you have available, and your skill levels. For now ,find the thread below entitled "List your apps here" (or something like that) there you will see what everyone has and there skill level ,this is used to help tailor your challenge to another Artists capabilities(SP) George and Trav have posted a monthly theme(hopefully to be replaced with it's own page) that everyone does, but you can challenge anyone ,anytime you want you could start a triangle challenge in which you challenge an Artist, then they cahallenge another artist, antd then that artist challenges You,completing the triangle , This way we have multiple challenges going on at the same time, and keeping a flow in the gallery. thank you for your interest Bast, you can go to the list apps thread (hopefully to be replaced by it's own page) and list your apps You can Challenge someone immediatly. Also there is a "THEME and IDEA" thread (hopefully to be replaced with it's own page) where you can post Themes into a theme pool,so if you cant think of a theme, use one thats posted there. hope this explains it a little. I'm hoping to grt it better organized soon but in the meantime we can manage from this forum, again...welcome Bast. Hawkfyr

There is a full description of how the system works in the first of second post in this forum. Also if you wish o take part there is a thread a towards the middle where you can post what programs you use and at what skill level. We are currently looking into another way to keep this information in normal viewing sight without having to go through all the posts. As far as posting the stuff in the free stuff section that is up to the artist. We can't make that mandatory. Hopefully in a few weeks we will have everything in a better working order...until then please bare with the mess:O) Thaks for your interest...hope ya have some fun! GeorgeD

I already "registered" in the application posting, and also made suggestions in theme stuff. I guess I was wondering mostly just in all practicality how does this work, what is the "etiquette", what are the limits, what support is expected to those challenged (in the form of sketches, etc..) and so on ;) Bast

view some of the other challenge threads to get an idea of how this works.. And how to challenge other people. It really is fun to do Storm

When you challenge some one...you the challenger can supply anything you want to the person or group. If you have a sketch, mesh, character, or scene file that you want them/us to use that's fine.there's realy no restrictions on how to make your challenge except lets try not to get to extreme like "I want you to make an image of a Clown and a goat laying on a rubber sheet with nothing but a garden hose and cooking oil." Although that is kinda funny it really doesn't need to be seen:O) GeorgeD
